Who are we?
Prickly pears are a flowering cacti commonly found in Arizona (and the rest of the southwest). They thrive in regions with mild winters, have a shallow root system, provide a fruit that is relished by many, and are beautiful and resilient. Prickly pears are a lot like us. We're originally from Michigan so we know what a real winter is like but we definitely thrive in an area with a more mild winter. We plan to RV in the south during the winters and go north in the summer. Having moved around the US already (California, Oregon and now Arizona), our root system is quite shallow. Of course, Michigan will always be "home". We are also both very resilient, which will suit us well in the full time RV lifestyle.
Kevin worked as an engineer and Jennifer is (still) teaching full time. When we go full time, Jennifer plans to continue teaching online. We have three children, one daughter in Michigan, another daughter in Arizona and a son who is currently in Arizona but who knows where he will be when we hit the road!
This page will be where we share our preparations to go full time as well as the adventures we take while we wait.
